Another Year

You know, the hubby and I both love being in North Carolina. We're both very happy with the area we're living in, and we love the opportunity to finally live close to our families for a change.

But...

This assignment is the pits. I hate what I see it doing to my husband. He LOVES the Army, and he normally loves what he does. But Recruiting is a completely different story. We both honestly thought that as Company Commander, since he wasn't actually the one going out and doing the recruiting, it wouldn't be as tough. He also had lots of ideas about how to make the job less stressful on the recruiters.

We were mistaken. He has just as much stress as the recruiters do; it's just a bit different, from different sources. And his ideas for making the job less stressful for them? He does the best he can, although with the mission they have it's extremely difficult. He's in a bad mood more evenings than not, which is not his nature.

And we have another year left of this. Thirteen months, actually. And believe me, we're definitely counting down. He wants to get into an assignment that will keep us here another year if he's not able to get to his school directly following this assignment. But he will definitely not be extending in Recruiting.
